Energy Management System Internal Auditor
The LICQual ISO 50001:2018 Energy Management System Internal Auditor course is designed to equip learners with the knowledge and practical skills needed to conduct internal audits of an energy management system (EnMS) in accordance with the ISO 50001:2018 standard. As organizations increasingly focus on energy efficiency and sustainability, learners gain the expertise to optimize energy use, reduce costs, and minimize environmental impact while ensuring compliance with global best practices.
Learners will explore the principles and requirements of ISO 50001:2018, including energy policy development, planning, implementation, and monitoring of energy performance. The course provides a structured approach for learners to assess energy management processes, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements that drive continual enhancement of energy performance.
Through hands-on exercises, case studies, and practical examples, learners will develop the skills to perform thorough internal audits, recognize energy-saving opportunities, and support sustainable energy practices within their organizations. Learners will also gain insight into monitoring, reporting, and aligning energy initiatives with international standards.
By the end of the course, learners will possess the competence and confidence to lead internal audits, add measurable value to energy management programs, and contribute to the continuous improvement of energy efficiency initiatives, positioning themselves as key drivers of sustainable organizational practices.

This diploma is ideal for:
Assessment and Verification
All units within this qualification are subject to internal assessment by the approved centre and external verification by LICQual. The qualification follows a criterion-referenced assessment approach, ensuring that learners meet all specified learning outcomes.
To achieve a ‘Pass’ in any unit, learners must provide valid, sufficient, and authentic evidence demonstrating their attainment of all learning outcomes and compliance with the prescribed assessment criteria. The Assessor is responsible for evaluating the evidence and determining whether the learner has successfully met the required standards.
Assessors must maintain a clear and comprehensive audit trail, documenting the basis for their assessment decisions to ensure transparency, consistency, and compliance with quality assurance requirements.
